830 Sqdn lost one Barracuda in the first strike: Sub Lt.Thomas Charles Bell. Sub Lt.Robert Norman Drennan. L/A Georg Joseph Burns. All three rests at Tromsø cemetery.

Carroll tok seg ned til folk i Melsvik, men meldte seg selv til tyskerne kort etter. Han ble hentet av tyske styrker fra Talvik. Likene ble hentet ned fra havaristedet og begravd. Tyskerne brydde seg ikke om bombelasten som lå strødd i terrenget. Den ble først sprengt av folk fra Forsvaret på slutten av 50-tallet.

"Operation Tungsten" Attack on the German battleship Tirpitz in Kåfjord. In the early hours this day, 42 dive-bombers and 80 fighters took off from HMS Furious and HMS Victorious. On the second strike, by 52nd Naval TBR (Torpedo Bomber Reconnaissance) Wing. Sub Lt.Hubert Horace Richardson and Sub Lt.Andrew George Cannon of 829 Sqdn were shot down. Both died when their Barracuda hit the hillside. Their Tag,(Telegraphist Air Gunner) E. Carroll managed to bail out and became POW. He was released in 1945. Sub Lt.Richardson and Cannon rests at Tromsø cemetery.
